anuyoga: noun (Skt. अनुयोग ‘further yoga’ fr. anu + yuj) the path of exploring the union of space and wisdom.

In which one meditates on the inner or subtle body with its energy centres (chakras), and its subtle energies (prana), the energy pathways (nadis), and consciousness (bindu).

Hello and welcome to Anuyoga

Anuyoga is a space for exploring chronic pain patterns and healing through a deeper awareness of the self.

We are so much more than our physical bodies. We are our thoughts, our emotions, our energy, our wisdom and our inner spirit. All these layers make us who we are.

Though a deeper practice of yoga and mindfullness we can peel back the layers to reveal our subtle nature and connect with it.

True healing must touch all five layers of ourselves to bring us back in balance, to bring us back in harmony with our inner and outer worlds.

To be well is to be in harmony! This is the real purpose of yoga.

For me yoga is about finding our healing and true alignment by connecting with our ananda, our joy, our wholeness.

Anuyoga embodies this.

Anuyoga – A Journey from Sickness to Health

All my life I have battled with chronic illnesses, living in their shadows. It started with allergies and bronchitis when I was in school. Then came the asthma, followed by endometriosis, PCOS, Hashimoto’s, insomnia…Being ill became my norm.

For decades I pushed through it, moving across four countries, setting up sixteen homes in twenty years, raising two girls while trying to make a career as a writer! Crazy, right? Looking back I can see, that in pretending that was my normal, I had in fact lost sight of me and my reality.

When I finally crashed in 2016 and couldn’t get out of bed for almost a year, I could pretend no longer. I knew it was my body screaming at me to Stop!

The official diagnosis was Fibromyalgia and the doctors didn’t know what to do with it. But I did. I knew the origin of my condition was buried deep within and somehow I needed to heal from that place.

My higher wisdom led me to a healing yoga retreat and it changed my life! A cliche, but true.

I not only discovered yoga tools that would reset my body systems ( my allergies and asthma were gone )but I uncovered the real pain which had manifested in my body as Fibromyalgia. I had found my path to healing!

The healing was as dramatic as it was transformative. Two years later I was in Bali training to be a yoga teacher!

My journey from being unable to walk across a room to becoming a yoga teacher in two years is amazing but it is by no means just my story. It could be yours too.

Here’s the the truth– We all have the power to heal from within. And the simplest practices can have the most profound impact.

I completed my training in 2019 at the age of forty-seven and in my mid-fifties I am healthier and stronger than I have ever been. Now, I am on a mission to help others release their pain patterns and find healing.

This mission is the sacred purpose of Anuyoga.

A bit about me

I’m a mum, once-upon-a-time travel writer and now the founder of Anuyoga.

I grew up in Bombay, India and now call London my home away from home. I love being out in nature, under big open skies and being creative.

Yoga has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Even as a child I loved attending yoga discourses with my grandmother, visiting ashrams of great yogis with my aunt and absorbing rich spiritual traditions. It instilled in me a deep belief that we all hold great wisdom and power in us.

I met my own guru, Swami Niranjananda of the Bihar School of Yoga in the late nineties and was initiated into the Hatha Yoga tradition. It was then that I discovered the science of yoga and was hooked.

But it was only when my body crashed in 2016, that I truly recognised the incredible power of yoga, inspiring me to become a yoga teacher and set up Anuyoga as a portal for healing.

I am forever grateful to all my teachers and masters who have passed on their wisdom and continue to guide me.

My mantra- We heal from a place of peace and joy.

Working with Anu has been an absolute game changer. For the first time I know what it is to really breathe and relax. Every session with her leaves me feeling so good. Anu is not just a yoga teacher. She is a magician.
